An Ordinance
Rezoning the Property
Commonly Referred to as
860 Chicago Avenue
From OS Open Space to 131 Business District
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission held a public hearing on December 10, 1997
pursuant to proper notice in Case No. ZPC 97-5-M(R) upon a reference to amend the
Zoning Map to rezone the property commonly referred to as 860 Chicago Avenue from
OS Open Space to 61 Business District; and
WHEREAS, based upon the testimony and other evidence, the Plan Commission
made findings and determined that the proposed amendment met the standards for
Zoning Map amendments set forth in Section 6-3-4-5 of the Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the legal description of the property commonly referred to as 860
Chicago Avenue is within the confines of Lot 12 in White's Addition to Evanston in
• Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian; and
WHEREAS, based upon the record, the Plan Commission voted to recommend
that the City Council approve the proposed rezoning for only that property commonly
referred to as 860 Chicago Avenue, that portion of the aforesaid Lot 12 legally
described as:
THAT PART OF LOT 12 (EXCEPT THE WEST 28 FEET THEREOF) IN BLOCK
12 IN WHITE'S ADDITION TO EVANSTON IN THE WEST HALF OF THE
SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 19, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE
14, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN EVANSTON, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID LOT 12, THENCE
ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 12, AND ON AN ASSUMED
BEARING, SOUTH 89 DEGREES 08 MINUTES 09 SECONDS WEST 58.02
FEET; THENCE SOUTH 14 DEGREES 55 MINUTES 00 EAST 46.15 FEET;
THENCE NORTH 81 DEGREES 41 MINUTES 25 SECONDS EAST 53.33 FEET
TO THE EAST LINE OF SAID LOT 12; THENCE, ALONG SAID EAST LINE
NORTH 09 DEGREES 58 MINUTES 06 SECONDS WEST 38.34 FEET TO THE

POINT OF BEGINNING.

NOW, THEREFORE, BIT IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of 12-0-98
Evanston, Cook County, Illinois:
SECTION 1: That the findings and recommendation of the Plan Commission in
Case No. ZPC 97-5-M(R) are hereby adopted, with the following property rezoned from
OS Open Space to B1 Business District.
THAT PART OF LOT 12 (EXCEPT THE WEST 28 FEET THEREOF) IN BLOCK
12 IN WHITE'S ADDITION TO EVANSTON IN THE WEST HALF OF THE
SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 19, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE
14, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN EVANSTON, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHEAST CONRENR OF SAID LOT 12, THENCE
ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 12, AND ON AN ASSUMED
BEARING, SOUTH 89 DEGREES 08 MINUTES 09 SECONDS WEST 58.02
FEET; THENCE SOUTH 14 DEGREES 55 MINUTES 00 EAST 45,15 FEET;
THENCE NORTH 81 DEGREES 41 MINUTES 25 SECNDS EAST 53.33 FEET
TO THE AST LINE OF SAID LOT 12; THENCE, ALONG SAID EAST
LINENORTH 09 DEGREES 58 MINUTES 06 SECONDS WEST 38.34 FEET TO
THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by the law.
