HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1999-110-O-99r� u 110-0-99 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of City Surplus Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical or economical for the best interests of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the surplus personal property hereinafter described; and, WHERAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said surplus property to Ely Enterprises, Peak Equipment, and Firstar Fiber, Inc. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COtiNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: SECTION 1: That pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City •of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following described surplus personal property (as summarized on attached sheet) has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500): SECTION 2: That pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interest of the City the aforescribed surplus property now owned by the City of Evanston as follows: Baler to Ely Enterprises for $45,000, Conveyor Sorting System to Peak Equipment for $20,500, and Various Storage Containers to Firstar Fiber, Inc. for $5,701.00. SECTION 3: That upon payment of the price indicated by Ely Enterprises, Peak Equipment, and Firstar Fiber, Inc., the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus personal property to Ely Enterprises, Peak Equipment, and Firstar Fiber, Inc. SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. • SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from after • its passage, approval and publication in manner provided by law. BALER SYSTEM • Karl Schmidt incline baler feed conveyor with sorting station. • Balemaster single ram horizontal baler with 5 wire auto -tie; manually operated removable fluffers; computer control panel for setting variable bale lengths. • Bale run out platform with fork pockets; steel, custom made to match height of baling chamber. Dimensions: 20'2"L x 54"W x 21"H II. CONTAINER SORTING SYSTEM A two (2) conveyor belt sorting system with eight (8) sorting stations, including 3 chutes to outside of building, and 5 chutes to containers below the sorting belt. • Karl Schmidt incline feed conveyor. • Karl Schmidt horizontal sorting conveyor, new belt purchased in 1998. Steel platform on both sides with 8 sorting stations. • Automatic can sorting system, magnetic conveyor and Eddy current conveyor. • III. STORAGE CONTAINERS/TOOLS • Six self -dumping hoppers, 2 yds.: 2 red, 1 green, 1 brown, 1 white, 1 blue, pallet base, 7 guage steel, double hinged lids. • Two (2) steel containers, 68" square by 27" deep, with fork pockets. Eighteen (18) steel storage cages, stackable; 10'6"L x 62"W x 68"H with fork pockets. • Ten (10) plastic wheeled tilt -carts, 1 '/2 yd. capacity. • Gerrard steel banding system, including: two tensioners, sealer, dispenser cart, and a reel of banding steel. 0
