AN ORDINANCE
Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate the Sale
Of Certain Real Estate at 100-122 Chicago Avenue
And Authorizing the Publication of a
Notice of Intent to Sell Certain Real Estate
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is desirous of selling, as owner, the real property legally
described as follows:
PARCELI: The North 50 feet of the South 150 feet of that part of the South 6.25 chains,
lying West of the West line of Chicago Avenue, East of the East line of Chicago and
Northwestern Railroad and North of the North line of Howard Street of the Northeast quarter
of Section 30, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook
County, Illinois.
PARCEL 2: The part of the South 6.25 chains of the Northeast quarter of Section 30,
• Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as
commencing at the intersection of the North line of Howard Street, with the East line of the
Right-of-way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad running; thence East, along the
North line of Howard Street to its intersection with the West line of North Clark Street
(formally Chicago Avenue); thence Northerly along the West line of said North Clark Street
100 feet; thence West parallel with the North line of Howard Avenue to the East line of the
right-of-way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; thence Southerly along said right-
of-way line 100 feet more or less to the point of beginning in Cook County, Illinois.
and commonly known as 100-122 Chicago Avenue, in the City of Evanston and hereinafter
referred to as the "Property"; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston, use of said
Property is no longer necessary, appropriate, required for use of, profitable to, or in the best interest
of said City; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston have determined that the best
• interests of the City of Evanston would be served by the sale of said Property; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston have deemed that the sale of
said Property is to take place as the result of negotiation;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate
the sale of the real estate legally described above and commonly known as 100-122 Chicago
Avenue. Pursuant to Section 1-17-4-2(B) of the City Code, an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of
the elected aldermen is required to accept the recommendation of the City Manager on the
negotiation authorized herein. The City of Evanston reserves the right to reject any and all
negotiations.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized and directed to give notice
of intent to sell the aforementioned real estate. Such Notice of Sale must be published at least once

in a daily or weekly newspaper in general circulation in the City of Evanston. The publication must •
not be less than 15 nor more than 30 days before the date on which the City Council shall consider
the adoption of the ordinance approving the sale of the property.
SECTION 3: That the Notice of Intent to sell the Property shall be in substantially the
following form:
Public Notice is hereby given that the City of Evanston proposes to sell the real estate legally
described as follows and commonly known as 100-122 Chicago Avenue.
PARCEL 1: The North 50 feet of the South 150 feet of that part of the South 6.25 chains,
lying West of the West line of Chicago Avenue, East of the East line of Chicago and
Northwestern Railroad and North of the North line of Howard Street of the Northeast quarter
of Section 30, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook
County, Illinois.

commencing at the intersection of the North line of Howard Street, with the East line of the
Right-of-way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad running; thence East, along the
North line of Howard Street to its intersection with the West line of North Clark Street
(formally Chicago Avenue); thence Northerly along the West line of said North Clark Street
100 feet; thence West parallel with the North line of Howard Avenue to the East line of the
right-of-way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; thence Southerly along said right-
of-way line 100 feet more or less to the point of beginning in Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
