AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Zoning Map to Rezone
From B3 Business District to
B2 Business District Certain Properties
Between 1201 Howard Street and
1415 Howard Street and Between
100 Asbury Avenue and 123 Asbury Avenue
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission held a public hearing on June 14, 2000, pursuant
to proper notice in case no. ZPC 00-6 to amend the Zoning Map to remove the properties
commonly known as 1201 Howard Street, 1211 Howard Street, 1215 Howard Street,
1219 Howard Street, 1325-1355 Howard Street, 1413-1415 Howard Street, 1415 Howard
• Street, 100 Asbury Street, 112 Asbury Street, 120 Asbury Street, 101 Asbury Street, 117
Asbury Street, and 123 Asbury Street from the B3 Business District and remap them into
the B2 Business District; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission heard testimony and received other evidence,
made a written record of its proceedings, and pursuant to section 6-3-4-5 of the Zoning
Ordinance, made findings that the proposed rezoning met applicable standards therefor,
and recommended that the City Council approve rezoning of the afore -described properties
from B3 Business District from B2 Business District; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the foregoing recitals are found as fact and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2: That the recommendation and findings of the Plan Commission are
adopted and the properties, designated above by their common addresses and legally -
described below, are hereby rezoned from B3 Business District to B2 Business District:
LOTS 1 THROUGH 14 IN BRUMMEL AND CHASE HOWARD AVE.
WESTERN ADDITION, A SUBDIVISION OF LOT 3 IN REIS SUBDIVISION
OF THE NORTHWEST'/4 OF SECTION 30-41-14 AND THAT PART OF
LOTS 10 AND 11 TAKEN AS A TRACT IN THE COUNTY CLERK'S
DIVISION OF UNSUBDIVIDED LANDS IN THE NORTHWEST % OF
SECTION 50, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 14, EAST OF THE THIRD
PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT THE
SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SAID LOT 10 AND RUNNING THENCE
NORTH ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID LOT 10, 196.69 FEET, TO THE
CENTER .LINE OF DOBSON STREET PRODUCED; THENCE EAST
ALONG SAID CENTER LINE PRODUCED 180 FEET; THENCE SOUTH
PARALLEL WITH THE WEST LINE OF SAID LOT 10 TO A LINE PARALLEL •
WITH THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID LOT 10 (DRAWN THROUGH PLACE OF
BEGINNING); THENCE WEST 180.0 FEET TO THE PLACE OF
BEGINNING, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, EXCEPT THAT PART
THEREOF TAKEN FOR WIDENING ASBURY AVENUE.

LOTS 9 THROUGH 15, AND LOTS 33 THROUGH 36, ALL INCLUSIVE OF
ARTHUR DUNAS HOWARD AVEUNE SUBDIVISION IN SECTION 25-41-13.
and
PLAT OF CONSOLIDATION OF LOTS 1 AND 2 IN THE RESUBDIVISION
OF LOTS 16 TO 92, BOTH INCLUSIVE IN ARTHUR DUNAS HOWARD
AVEUNE SUBDIVISION IN SECTION 25-41-13 -
and

SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
• its passage, appr val, and publication in the manner provided by law.
