HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2001-005-O-011 /17/2001 • 5-0-01 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use to Allow for Expansion of the Gross Floor of a Hospital at 2650 Ridge Avenue WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals ("ZBA") held a public hearing on December 5, 2000 and December 19, 2000 pursuant to proper notice in case no. ZBA 00-35-SU(R) on the application of Raymond Grady, president of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, property owner, for a special use pursuant to Section 6-15-10-7 of the Zoning Ordinance to expand the gross floor area by approximately 12,300 square feet of the hospital building at 2650 Ridge Avenue ("subject property"), to allow construction • of a five -story administration and research building (Burch II), connected to the west side of Evanston Women's Hospital, south of Burch 1, to permit the removal of the existing lobby and construction of a new lobby and canopy between the proposed building, Evanston Women's Hospital, and Burch 1, within the R4/oH General Residential/Hospital Overlay District; WHEREAS, the ZBA, after hearing testimony and receiving other evidence, made written findings pursuant to Section 6-3-4-5 of the Zoning Ordinance that the application met the standards for special uses, and recommended approval thereof; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee of the City Council considered and adopted the ZBA's findings and recommendation at its January 22, 2001 meeting and recommended City Council approval thereof, 0 5-0-01 U NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby adopts the findings and recommendation of the ZBA and the Planning and Development Committee in the aforedescribed case no. ZBA 00-35-SU(R) and grants said special use on property legally described as follows: LOTS 1 IN EVANSTON HOSPITAL CONSOLIDATION OF VARIOUS BLOCKS, LOTS, STREET AND ALLEY IN THE SOUTHEAST % AND IN THE SOUTHEAST '/4 OF SECTION 35, TOWNSHIP 42 NORTH, RANGE 13, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, commonly known as 2650 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 6-3-5-12 of the Zoning Ordinance, which • provides that the City Council may impose conditions upon the grant of special uses, these conditions are hereby imposed: a. Development and use of the subject property shall be in substantial compliance with the testimony and representations of the applicant, and the approved plans and documents placed on file in connection with this case. b. No construction in connection with the special use granted hereby shall take place between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on any day of the week. C. No construction in connection with the special use granted hereby shall take place on any Saturday or Sunday or on January 1, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following day, December 24 after 12 noon and December 25. • -2- s Fl- Ll • 5-0-01 SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
