Radek, Superintendent Administrative Services SUBJECT: Request to Declare City Property Surplus The intent of this memorandum is to request declaration by the City Council at its June 28 and July 12, 2004 meetings various items of City property as surplus so that the vehicles and equipment can be publicly offered for sale at the August 14, 2004, Lake County auction. We typically participate in two auctions each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. This year because we have recently put into service new police cars, we would like to add a summer auction. By selling these vehicles now, we reduce the storage time as well as get our items into the market place where they can receive more buyer interest and better resale value. 1) Unit #159, a 1993 Ford truck with aerial bucket and service body assigned to the Public Works Department, Traffic Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford F650 with aerial bucket and service body. 2) Unit #56, a 2000 Ford Explorer, assigned to Patrol Division as the Evidence Technician's vehicle, has been replaced by a 1999 Ford Explorer transferred from the traffic division. 3) Unit #45 a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 4) Unit 446, a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria 5) Unit 451 a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 6) Unit 462, a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, assigned to the Police Department, Neighborhood Enforcement Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 7) Unit #63, a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol • Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 8) Unit #67, a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 9) Unit #69, a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the Police Department, Patrol • Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 10) Unit #72, a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, assigned to the Police Department, Detective Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria 11) Unit #73, a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, assigned to the Police Department, Neighborhood Enforcement Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 12) Unit #76, a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, assigned to the Police Department, Neighborhood Enforcement Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 13) Unit #78, a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, assigned to the Police Department, Detective Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 14) Unit #87, a 1995 Chevrolet window van, assigned to the Police Department, Problem Solving Division, has been replaced by a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. 15) Unit #566, a 1995 Brush Bandit chipper, replaced with a 2004 Vermeer chipper. 16) Miscellaneous obsolete equipment identified during a comprehensive cleaning of • the second floor storage area in the Fleet Service's parts area, as follows: Grille from a 1992 Ford, Tail lense assembly for a 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier, 7 auto headlamp systems, an air condenser (unknown brand), Stellar SHD-60A hydraulic driven air compressor, Sun modular computer system 2500, assorted warning light parts, Code 3 model 911EP light bar, Hein Werner Port -A -Power, wheel dolley, 2 sets of aluminum running boards, Power Boss sweeper main broom, 4 amber arrow sticks, grease pump, floor covering for Ford sedan, Weatherguard tool box, radiator for a 1991 International 4600, plastic Christmas tree and ornaments, brake station, parts cleaner, miscellaneous filters - fuel (5), oil (4) and diesel fuel (10), 2 drum barrels, painting apparatus. 17) Miscellaneous equipment in storage at the Service Center, as follows: 4 pick axes, IBM typewriter Selectric 11, Remington Rand electric typewriter, Canon CCX-L4000 fax machine, Vermeer, LS 200 log splitter (replaced in 1999).
