Amending the Zoning Map
To Re -zone from B3 to B2 Business District
The Properties from1301 through 1337 Sherman Avenue and
1310 Chicago Avenue through 1336 Chicago Avenue
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission held public hearings on March 10, 2004 and
April 14, 2004, pursuant to proper notice in case no. ZPC 04-03-M&T to consider
amendments to the Zoning Map and/or the text of the --Zoning Ordinance to re -zone the
properties at 1301 through 1337 Sherman Avenue and 1310 Chicago Avenue through
1336 Chicago Avenue from the B3 Business District to the B2 Business District or other
Zoning District; and
• WHEREAS, the Plan Commission heard testimony and received other evidence,
made a written record of its proceedings, and pursuant to Section 6-3-4-5 of the Zoning
Ordinance, made findings that the proposed Zoning Map amendment met applicable
standards thereof, and recommended City Council approval of re -zoning the
aforementioned properties"to the B2 Business District; and.;
WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee of the City Council
reviewed the Plan Commission's record, findings, and recommendation at its May 24,
2004 meeting and recommended City Council approval thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered this Ordinance 60-0-04 at its May 24,
2004 and June 14, 2004 meetings, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS-
SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby adopts the record, findings, and
recommendation of the Plan Commission and the Planning p and Development •
Committee and amends- the Zoning -Map cited in - Section 6-7-2 of the Zoning Ordinance
to re -zone the following legally described properties from B3 Business District to B2
Business District:
ALL OF BLOCK 39 IN VILLAGE OF EVANSTON IN SECTION 18-41-14
AND SAVINGS OF AMERICA EVANSTON PLAT OF CONSOLIDATION
AND DECICATION BEING PART OF BLOCK 39 IN VILLAGE OF
EVANSTON, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ODD -NUMBERED
PROPERTIES FROM 1301 SHERMAN AVENUE AND ALL EVEN-
NUM'BERED`PROPERTIES'-FRO'M 1310 CHICAGO �AVENUE'THROUGH
1336 CHICAGO AVENUE.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its •
passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
