HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2004-038-O-04• 38-0-04 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of City Surplus Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical or economical for the best interest of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the surplus personal property hereinafter described; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said surplus property to the highest bidder at a public auction to be held on April 3, 2004; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY • COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following described surplus personal property (as summarized on attached sheet) has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500): SECTION 2: That pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interest of the City the aforescribed surplus property now owned by the City of Evanston at a public auction conducted under the aegis of City of Fox Lake, located in Fox Lake, IL, to the highest bidder on said surplus property. SECTION 3: That upon payment of the price indicated by City of Fox Lake, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus personal property to City of Fox Lake, Illinois. SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
