HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2005-065-O-055/31 /2005 • 65-0-05 AN ORDINANCE Dedicating for Alley Purposes Certain Land Owned by the Royal Sherman Condominium Association South of Simpson Street and East of Sherman Avenue WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Evanston to pave the east alley of the 2000 block of Sherman Avenue; and WHEREAS, certain land, owned by the Royal Sherman Condominium Association is needed for the aforesaid paving; and WHEREAS, the Royal Sherman Condominium Association is willing to dedicate to the City at no cost the portion of land they own; and • WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to accept the dedication from the Royal Sherman Condominium Association, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the portion of property, 10.0 feet in width and 93.86 feet in length, and 20.0 feet in width and 1.0 foot in length, south of Simpson Street and east of Sherman Avenue, legally described as follows: THE EAST 10 FEET OF THE SOUTH 92.86 FEET OF LOT "A" IN THE CONSOLIDATION OF LOT 4 IN J. E. PARKER'S RESUBDIVISION OF THE NORTH 147.84 FEET OF BLOCK 4 IN EVANSTON; ALSO ALL OF LOTS 12 AND 13 (EXCEPT THE NORTH 67.84 FEET THEREOF) IN BLOCK 4 AFORESAID, IN EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS; IN FRACTIONAL SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 14, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ALSO: 65-0-05 ALL OF THE 1.0 FOOT BY 20.0 FOOT RESERVED PORTION IN J. E. PARKER'S RESUBDIVISION, LYING SOUTH OF THE 20.0 FOOT ALLEY IN SAID RESUBDIVISION, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, PIN 11-18-105-023 (part of) and 11-18-105-045 (part of) Part of 2033 Sherman Avenue as set forth in a Plat of Dedication dated February 5, 2004, by the Royal Sherman Condominium Association, attached to and incorporated into this Ordinance, be and hereby is accepted as, and dedicated for, a public alley by the City Council of the City of Evanston. SECTION 2: That a certified copy of this Ordinance, together with a true and correct plat of said dedication, be recorded at the Office of Recorder of Deeds in Cook County, Illinois. SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
