HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2006-049-O-06• 3/16/2006 49-0-06 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of City Surplus Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston (Obenauf Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical or economical for the best interest of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the surplus personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said surplus property to the highest bidder at the Obenauf • Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction to be held on June 3, 2006, at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That, pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following described surplus personal property summarized on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein, has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00). SECTION 2: That, pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City • Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interest of the City 49-0-06 the aforedescribed surplus property now owned by the City of Evanston at the Obenauf Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction to be held on June 3, 2006 at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said surplus property. SECTION 3: That, upon payment of the price indicated by Obenauf Auction Service, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus personal property to Obenauf Auction Service. SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. Morton, Mayor n U .7 —2— 49-0-06 • Exhibit A 1) Unit #704, a 1995 Crane Carrier refuse truck that has been replaced with a 2005 Crane Carrier refuse truck; 2) Unit #712, a 1995 Crane Carrier refuse truck that has been replaced with a 2005 Crane Carrier refuse truck; 3) Unit #713, a 1992 Crane Carrier refuse truck that has been replaced with a 2005 Crane Carrier refuse truck; 4) Unit #714, a 1992 Crane Carrier refuse truck that has been replaced with a 2005 Crane Carrier refuse truck; 5) Unit #716, a 1992 Crane Carrier refuse truck that has been replaced with a 2005 Crane Carrier refuse truck; 6) Unit #345, a 1979 Ford E 350 van and Unit #342, a 1977 Chevrolet CP30 that have been replaced with a 2005 Spartan fire truck; • 7) Obsolete equipment stored at the Service Center for several years, as follows: Brother fax/color printer/copier (model MFC7050C), HP fax/printer/copier (model 300), Dell Computer (Optiplex GXI), Motorola two-way radio with charging station for 6 units), 12 used shovels, 21 5-gallon pails of white and yellow marking paint, and 8 small shopping bag carts. • -3-
