HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2007-055-O-07Ui • 5/3/2007 55-0-07 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of City Surplus Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston (Lake County, Illinois) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical, or economical for the best interest of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the surplus personal property hereinafter described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City • of Evanston to sell said surplus personal property to the highest bidder at the Lake County Division of Transportation Auction to be held at 600 West Winchester, Libertyville, Illinois, on June 2, 2007; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS; SECTION 1: That, pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the surplus personal property summarized in Exhibit A has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500). SECTION 2: That, pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City 0 Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and 55-0-07 conditions she deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interest of the City the aforementioned surplus personal property now owned by the City of Evanston at a public auction conducted under the aegis of the Lake County Division of Transportation to the highest bidder on said surplus property, or to transfer ownership of such surplus personal property as deemed by her to be in the best interests of the City. SECTION 3: That, upon payment to the City the price indicated by the Lake County Division of Transportation, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus personal property to the Lake County Division of Transportation. SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from after its `'passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
