HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2008-109-O-08• 9/17/2008 109-0-08 AN ORDINANCE Amending Section 1-7-5 of the Evanston City Code, Increasing Compensation of the City Clerk and Increasing the Number of Days a Non-Aldermanic Compensation Committee Shall Submit a Report and Recommendation to the City Council Prior to the Next Regularly -Scheduled Municipal Election BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SECTION 1: That Section 1-7-5 of the Evanston City Code of 1979, • as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: 1-7-5: COMPENSATION: The compensation to be paid to the City Clerk for his/her services is hereby fixed as follows: (A) Commencing on and after the first regularly -scheduled meeting at which the City Clerk elected April 2009 takes office May 2009, at the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) per annum, in twenty-six (26) bi-weekly installments, plus medical benefits. (B) The City Clerk compensation structure shall be reviewed by a non- aldermanic committee every four (4) years, which committee shall submit a report- and recommendation to the city council no later than two hundred forty (240) days prior to the next regularly scheduled municipal elections. SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. 0 1• • 1: SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law. SECTION 4: That if any provision of this Ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given effect without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid application of this Ordinance is severable.
