AN ORDINANCE
Authorizing the Sale of City
Surplus Fleet Vehicles Owned by the City of Evanston
(Obenauf Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that
it is no longer necessary, practical, or economical for the best interest of the City of
Evanston to retain ownership of certain surplus equipment and fleet vehicles
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest
of the City of Evanston to sell said surplus equipment and fleet vehicles to the highest
bidder at the Obenauf Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction web site
• (www.obenaufauctions.com), whose mailing address is 118 North Orchard Street,
Round Lake, Illinois 60073.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That, pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the
City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following
described surplus fleet vehicles summarized on Exhibit A, attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand
five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
SECTION 2: That, pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City Council
• hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions she
deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interest of the City the aforedescribed

surplus equipment and fleet vehicles now owned by the City of Evanston at the
Obenauf Auction Service Internet Auction web site for fourteen (14) days, and sold to
the highest bidder on said surplus equipment and fleet vehicles.
SECTION 3: That, upon payment of the price indicated by the Obenauf
Auction Service, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of
ownership of aforesaid surplus equipment and fleet vehicles to the Obenauf Auction
Service.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: That this Ordinance 84-0-08 shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner
provided by law.
SECTION 6: That if any provision of this Ordinance 84-0-08 or
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this
Ordinance 84-0-08 that can be given effect without the invalid application or
provision, and each invalid application of this Ordinance is severable.

EXHIBIT A
SURPLUS FLEET VEHICLES
1. Evnorsko -Compressed Natural Gas -System consisting of compressor, above
ground storage tanks, enclosure and dispensing equipment located at Fleet
Services Garage. Sale proceeds minus any expenses will be equally shared
with the City of Skokie and Northwestern University who were our former
partners in the Evnorsko Authority.
2. One unit #257, a 2003 Ford E-350 cargo van assigned to the Facilities
Management division of Parks, Forestry & Recreation Department, VIN
#1 FDSE34M43HC08215 with 25,000 miles. This vehicle is a dedicated
compressed natural gas fueled van, is in fair condition and has already been
replaced with a new vehicle. This vehicle will be sold through Obenauf Auction
Service Municipal Equipment Auction web site. All proceeds from the sale of
this vehicle will be retained by the City of Evanston.
3. One Unit, #163, a 1995 Ford Super Duty Bucket Truck assigned to Traffic
Signals Division of the Public Works Department, VIN #1 FDLF47F8SEA36730
with 82,500 Miles. Truck is in poor condition and has been replaced by a new
• vehicle. All proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will be retained by the City of
Evanston.
