HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2008-040-O-08• 2/27/2008 40-0-08 AN ORDINANCE Transferring the Jurisdiction of Sheridan Road, from the Intersection of Ridge Avenue, Isabella Street, and Sheridan Road to the North Edge of the Pavement of South Boulevard, from the Illinois Department of Transportation to the City of Evanston WHEREAS, upon the transfer of jurisdiction of Sheridan Road, from the intersection of Ridge Avenue, Isabella Street, and Sheridan Road, to the north edge of the pavement of South Boulevard, from the Illinois Department of Transportation ("IDOT") to the City of Evanston, the City of Evanston will be required to assume the maintenance of said jurisdiction; and • WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Evanston to assume said jurisdiction and maintenance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Manager is authorized to sign the jurisdictional transfer agreement regarding Sheridan Road from the intersection of Ridge Avenue, Isabella Street, and Sheridan Road, to the north edge of the pavement of South Boulevard, attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A and incorporated herein, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified . copy of this Ordinance to the State of Illinois through its District Engineer's Office at 201 West Center Court, Schaumburg, Illinois. The City of Evanston has requested that additional funding be dedicated to the improvement of Sheridan Road in the City of Evanston in exchange for a jurisdictional transfer of this road from State of Illinois to the City of Evanston. The Department is amenable to this request.
