Evanston
To: Wally Bobkiewicz, City Manager
From: Lonnie Jeschke, Manager, Fleet Services, Public Works
Suzette Eggleston, Interim Director of Public Works
Subject: Disposal of Surplus Vehicles (Ordinance 65-0-09)
Date: September 4, 2009
The intent of this memorandum is to request a declaration by the City Council that
various items of City property are surplus so these items can be publicly offered for sale
through public auction. The property is presently assigned to the Public Works
Department (Water Distribution and Streets & Sanitation) and the Office of Emergency
Management. We typically participate in three auctions per year in the Lake County
and Northern Illinois area through Obenauf Auctioneers, 118 North Orchard Street,
Round Lake, Illinois 60073 ((847) 546-2097) for surplus property. This is a request for
City Council consideration and approval of Ordinance 65-0-09 to sell this surplus
equipment through Obenauf Auction Services' live auction on Saturday, December 5,
2009, at the Lake County Fairgrounds located at 600 East Peterson Road in Grayslake,
Illinois 60030, or any subsequent Obenauf online internet based auction. The property
to be disposed of is as follows:
