AN ORDINANCE
Amending. Title 10, "Motor= Vehicles and Traffic,"'
Chapter 4, "Stopping, Standing .or Parking,'.'
Section 13, "Snow Emergency; Snow Route Parking Ban; Other
Regulations," of the Evanston City Code
NOW BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, "Motor Vehicles and Traffic,"
Chapter 4, "Stopping, Standing or Parking," Section 13, "Snow Emergency;
Snow Route Parking Ban; Other Regulations," paragraph (C), "Snow
• Emergency," of the Evanston City Code of 1979, as amended, is hereby further
amended to read as follows:
(C) Snow Emergency: A snow emergency is hereby declared to be in effect
at eight o'clock (8:00) A.M. following the accumulation of four inches (4") of snow
within a twenty-four (24) hour period, or may be declared by the City Manager, or
his designee, and shall remain in effect until six o'clock (6:00) P.M. the following
day, a period of thirty four (34) hours. A snow emergency may be extended by
the City Manager, or his designee, should conditions warrant.
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That if any provision of this Ordinance 64-0-09 or
application thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or
otherwise invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
• of this Ordinance 64-0-09 that can be given effect without the invalid
application or provision, and each invalid application of this Ordinance
is severable.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance 64-0-09 shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner
provided by law.
