AN ORDINANCE
Adding Title 10, Chapter 12,
"Vehicle Compliance"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Title 10 of the Evanston City Code of 1979, as
amended, is hereby further amended by adding Title 10, Chapter 12, "Vehicle
Compliance" to read as follows:
10-12-1: Illinois Vehicle Code and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices adopted.
• (a) The Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/1-100, et seq., is hereby
adopted and made a part of this article by reference and shall be applicable in the City
of Evanston.
(b) Any person who violates any provision of the Illinois Vehicle Code
within the City shall be fined in accordance with amounts specified in Section 10-2-3.
(c) The standards and regulations contained in.the Manual of Uniform
Traffic Control Devices are hereby adopted.
10-12-2: Violation of provisions of Illinois Vehicle Code. It shall be unlawful for any
person to violate the following sections of the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS

10-12-3: Any person who violates the provisions of Section 10-12-2 of this Chapter
shall be guilty of an offense punishable by a fine of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) with fine
plus late penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00) and a maximum penalty of two hundred and fifty
dollars ($250.00).
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That if any provision of this Ordinance 3-0-09 or application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance 3-0-09 that
can be given effect without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid
application of this Ordinance is severable.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance 3-0-09 shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
