AN ORDINANCE
Granting A Special Use With Respect To
The Property At 1601-11 Chicago Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois
WHEREAS, on August 17, 1976 and September 21, 1976 the
Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing upon the appli-
cation of the North Shore Hotel Ltd. Partnership as sole benefi-
ciary of Exchange National Bank, Trust No. 25168 for a special
use to permit retention of a retirement hotel on the property
located at 1601-11 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, a B-3 busi-
ness district, said public hearing having been conducted pursuant
to notice and publication thereof as provided by law; and
0 WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended
that such relief be granted:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of the North Shore
Hotel Ltd. Partnership, as sole beneficiary
of Exchange National Bank, Trust No. 25168 for a special use to
permit retention of a retirement hotel on property located in a
B-3 business district commonly known at 1601-11 Chicago Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois and legally described as:

Lots 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Block 20 in Evanston,, in

the Northwest one -quarter (4) of the Southeast
one -quarter (4) of Section 18, Township 41 North,
Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian,
• in Cook County, Illinois.

be and hereby is granted subject to compliance with all of the
provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws, and
the condition that with reference to that portion of the building
which shall be used for a retirement hotel, the owner shall pro-
vide one off-street parking space (meeting all the requirements
of the zoning ordinance) for each vehicle owned or registered to
a resident of the building. In no event shall the special use
permittee provide less than fifteen (15) spaces. Enforcement of
this provision shall be conducted annually in conjuction with the
required licensing to which the facility is subject.
A covenant which recites the terms and conditions of
this ordinance shall be executed in recordable form.
SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is
hereby ordered and directed to grant such
permits as shall be required to effectuate provisions of this
ordinance.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and ap-
proval in the manner provided by law.
