AN ORDINANCE
Authorizing Advertising For Bids
For Tile Sale Of Municipally
Owned Real Property Located At
1624 Darrow Avenue
jWHEREAS, the City of Evanston is the owner of property hereinafter
t
�i legally described; and
WHEREAS, said property is a parcel of undevelo.jed land measuring
approximately 46 feet by 60 feet and is located in a residential area between
Ik an alley and privately owned residential property; and

i! WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined
that it is no longer necessary, appropriate, or in the 'vest interest of the
City of Evanston that it retain title to said real estate, and that said
real estate is not required for the use of, or profitable to, the City of
i
Evanston; and
i
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined
that the best interest of the City of Evanston would be served by the convey-
ance of said property to qualified persons who would develop said property as
a lawn or garden area, or would utilize it to erect accessory use buildings in
conformity with residential use zoning regulations applicable to the district:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

• SECTION 1: That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized and
directed to give notice of a proposal to sell real
estate legally described as:
The West 60 feet of Lot 6 in Wilson's Subdivision of Lots
1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Block 4 in Hinman's Addition to
{ Evanston, said Addition being a Subdivision of the North-
west 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 13, Township 41
North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian in
Cook County, Illinois.

SECTION 2: That said notice of a proposal to sell shall be pub-
1! lished for three (3) successive weeks in a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Evanston. The first publication shall be

not less than thirty (30) days before the date provided in said notice for
�i the opening of bids for the real estate. The corporate authorities may accept
i�
II the high bid or any other bid determined by them to be in the best interest of
• fIi the City of Evanston. Corporate authorities may reject any and all bids.

SECTION 3: That the notice of proposal to sell any real estate shall
be in substantially the following form:
"Notice of Proposal to Sell Real Estate"
"Public notice is hereby given that the City of Evanston
proposes to the following described real estate to wit:
The West 60 feet of Lot 6 in Wilson's Subdivision of Lots
1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Block 4 in Hinman's Addition to
Evanston, said Addition being a Subdivision of the North-
West 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 13, Township 41
*North, Range 13, East of the Third Principle Meridian in
Cook County, Illinois.
The property parcel proposed to be sold is presently
vacant; it is set back approximately 75 feet west of
the west line of Darrow Avenue between 1622 Darrow and
• a public alley.

• The City of Evanston hereby solicits bids for the pur-
chase of said real estate. All such bids should be in
writing and filed in the office of the City Manager,
City of Evanston, Municipal Building, 1501 Oak Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois 60204, on or before October 31, 1977
at the hour of 11:00 A.M. The City reserves the right to
reject any and all bids."

SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval, and publication in the
manner provided by law.
