AN ORDINANCE
Granting Variations From The Use,
Lot Area, Floor Area Ratio, And
Side Yard Regulations Of The Zoning
Ordinance And Granting A Special
Use Relating To The Property At
2001-03 Orrington Avenue
WHEREAS, on May 17, 1977 and June 21, 1977 the Zoning Board of
Appeals conducted a public hearing upon the application of Marc A. Gellman
and Marc K. Segel (contract purchasers) for variations from the use, lot
area, floor area ratio, and side yard regulations of the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Evanston adopted November 21, 1960 as they apply to the
property located at 2001-03 Orrington Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, an R-1
• single family residence district, and for a special use to permit conver-
sion of the existing single family dwelling into a two (2) family dwelling
on property located in an R-1 single family residence district; said public
hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof
as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that such
relief be granted:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COLNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That based upon the recommendation of the Zoning Board

ratio, and side yard regulations of the Zoning Ordinance to permit conver-
sion of the existing single family dwelling into a two (2) family dwelling on
the property located at 2001-03 Orrington Avenue, and legally described as:
Lot 9 and the South 20 feet of Lot 8 in the Resub-
division by Northwestern University of parts of
Sections 7 and 18, Township 41 North, Range 14,
East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County,
Illinois,
is granted.
SECTION 2: That the grant of the special use permit herein shall be
subject to compliance with the provisions of the Evanston
Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws, and the following conditions:
1. The applicants/buyers shall agree that the fire escape
attached to the premises known as 2001-03 Orrington Avenue shall be removed
from the building within three (3) years of the date of the adoption of this
ordinance.
2. A covenant reciting agreement to the aforementioned condition
shall be executed and delivered to the City by the applicants/buyers in
recordable form.
SECTION 3: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby
ordered and directed to grant said permits as shall be
required to effectuate provisions of this ordinance.
