NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI14ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLI140IS:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 34 of the Code of the City of Evanston,
is 1957, as amended,'is hereby further amended by adding
thereto Section 34-10.1.
"34-10.1. Chief of Police - Appointment of parking regulation
enforcement personnel.
The Chief of Police, with the approval of the City Manager,
may appoint private persons who are residents of the City of
Evanston for the purpose of issuing citations for parking regu-
lation violations within areas of the City designated by the
Chief of Police. Persons so appointed shall possess only the
limited authority set forth herein and shall be subject to such
rules and regulations as the Chief of Police shall impose and
promulgate. Such appointees shall not be deemed to be police
• officers."
SECTION 2: The City Manager shall provide semi-annual reports to the
Police Services Committee reviewing the appointments and
enforcement hereunder. Annual evaluation by the Police Services Committee in
December of each year shall be provided for the Council.

and after its passage, approval and publication in the
manner provided by law until December 31, 1979.
