HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1976-068-O-761, 7-12-76, 7-15-76 7-21-76 68-0-76 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use Permit with Regard to the Property Located at 2020 Greenwood Street, Evanston, Illinois WHEREAS, on May 18, 1976 and June 15, 1976 the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a Public Hearing upon the application of'E.N. Scully and Sons (contract purchaser) for a special use to permit plastics manufacturing and warehousing on the property located at 2020 Greenwood Street, Evanston, Illi- nois, an M3 restricted manufacturing district, said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof as provided by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that such relief be granted; . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application of E.N. Scully and Sons (contract pur- chaser) for a special use'to permit plastics manufacturing and warehousing on the property located at 2020 Greenwood Street, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as: Parcel 1: That part of the South half of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest quarter (except the north 71 1/2 feet thereof and except the South 33 feet thereof reserved for street) in Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian lying west of the right-of-way of Junction Railway Company described as follows: Commencing on the South line of Greenwood Street at a point 423 feet East of the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence east along the South line of Greenwood Street 10 feet; thence south 260 feet on a line 433 feet East of and parallel to the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence West 10 feet on a line 260 feet South of and parallel to the South line of Greenwood Street; thence north 260 feet to the place of the beginning; also Parcel 2: That part of the South half of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest quarter (except the north 71 1/2 feet thereof and except the south 33 feet thereof reserved for street) in Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian (lying Westerly of the right-of-way of Junction Railway Company) described as follows: • • 68-0-76 -2- Commencing on the South line of Greenwood Street (as the same is occupied) at a point 433 feet East of center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence North 90 degrees East on South line of Greenwood Street 503.61 feet to Westerly right-of-way line of the Junction Railway Company; thence South 24 degrees 18 1/2 minutes West along the Westerly right-of-way line of said Junction Railway Company 237.90 feet to center of a switch track; thence South- westerly along the center of the switch track a distance of 200 feet more or less to a point; said poi►at being South 72 degrees 16 1/2 minutes West 197.07 feet when measured on the long chord of the switch track curve; thence South 87 degrees 52 1/2 minutes West along the center of the switch track 229.56 feet more or less to a point in a line 433 feet East of and parallel with the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence North 2 degrees 16 minutes East 285.54 feet to the place of beginning (except from said premises commencing at a point 433 feet East of center line of Hartrey Avenue and 263 feet 1/2 inch South of South line of Greenwood Street; thence east 110 feet along a line 22 1/2 feet North of and par- allel to center line of a switch track; thence South 22 1/2 feet to center line of said switch track; thence West 110 feet along center line of said switch track; thence North 22 1/2 feet on a line 433 feet East of and parallel to the center of Hartrey Avenue to the place of beginning), all in Cook County Illinois, be and hereby is granted subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions: 1) Thaf the special use herein granted shall be limited to E.N. Scully and Sons and to its directly controlled affiliates, Lustro Company and Lustro Plastics Company; and 2) That adequate safeguards will be taken to eliminate any obnoxious odors; and 3) That a covenant of agreement to the above conditions shall be sub- mitted in recordable form by the applicants. SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby ordered and directed to grant such permits as shall be required to ef- fectuate the provisions of this ordinance.
