AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Provisions of the Sign Ordinance
as They Pertain to Ground Signs
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Section 50-25C(3) of the Code of the City of Evanston:
1957, as amended be further amended to read as follows:
50-25C
113) Space Between Sign and Ground
Ground signs shall be constructed so as toreither have an
open space not less than three feet between the base line of said sign
and the ground or shall present a solid structurally integral surface
to the exterior from ground level to the apex of --such sign. In the
event such signs shall be constructed with an open space herein de-
scribed, such open space shall not be filled or obstructed with plat-
forms, lattice work, or.screening of any type except landscape plant-
ings."
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be effective from and after its pas-
sage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by
law. ` ..
