HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1976-020-O-76• 2-19-76, 2-26-76 .f 20-0-76 AN ORDINANCE Granting the Application of Sigma Chi Foundation for a Special Use Permit with Respect to the Property Located at 1726 Hinman Avenue WHEREAS, on November 18, 1975 and December 16, 1975, the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing on the application of the Sigma Chi Foundation for an appeal from the interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance by an enforcing officer or in the alternative a special use for establishment of a. rooming house on the property located at 1726 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, ;j Illinois, an R5A General Residence District, said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof as provided by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has made certain recommendations with respect to said application; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application of the Sigma Chi Foundation for a . special use to allow establishment of a rooming house on the property located at 1726 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as Lot 15 and the North Half of Lot 14 in Block 14 in Evanston in Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois N N be and hereby is granted subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions: 1. That the lodgers of the rooming house shall consist solely of the scholarship counselors of the Sigma Chi Foundation and shall not exceed seven (7) in number; 2. That no changes shall be made to the exterior facade of the building i that will fail to preserve its appearance as a single family dwelling; 3. That a covenant of agreement reflecting the conditions upon which the special use permit may issue shall be executed by the applicant in • recordable form; all in.accordance with the recommendations of the Zoning Board of Appeals. i 20-0-76 -2- a SECTION 2: The Director of Inspections and Permits is hereby ordered • l and directed to grant such permits as shall be required to i i. effectuate the provisions of this ordinance.
