Amending Section X.B.2.a of the Zoning Ordinance Pertaining to Off -Street Parking WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee has on July 17,1975 and October 2, 1975 conducted a public hearing on the reference.from the Evanston City Council to consider the amendment of Section X.B of the Zoning Ordinance so as to allow required parking for patrons or occupants of a building to be provided on a'lot located not more than five hundred (500) feet from said building and leased on a long term basis, said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice published in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Amendment Committee has reported its findings and recommendations to the City Council of the City of Evanston; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section X.B.2.a of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, 1960, as amended, be and hereby is further amended by, adding the following new subparagraph (4): "X.B.2.a(4). Exception: In all but R1 thru R5A Residence Districts, part or all of the required parking spaces may be leased from the City to serve the subject property, so long as they are located not more than 500 feet from the lot requiring said parking, and are not located in a more restrictive zoning district than the building and uses they are to serve. The parking arrangement must be secured by a lease for / .` the duration of the anticipated life of the building. Furthermore, the City must be willing to lease such spaces for the proposed building and uses. (For purposes of this paragraph, R1 shall be deemed the most restrictive district and M1 the least restrictive.)" SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
