HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2013-097-O-13ti • 08/16/2013 97-0-13 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of Surplus Fleet Vehicles Owned by the City of Evanston (Manheim Auction Service Municipal Equipment Auction) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical, or economical for the City to retain ownership of certain surplus fleet vehicles that have an aggregate value in excess of one thousand, five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) and are described in Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of • the City of Evanston to sell said surplus fleet vehicles to the highest bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT: SECTION 1: The foregoing recitals are found as fact and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2: Pursuant to Subsection 1-17-3-(B) of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell the aforementioned surplus fleet vehicles, upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interests of the City, to the highest bidder at the Manheim Auction Service Municipal Vehicles & Equipment Auction to be held on October 15, 2013 at the Manheim Arena Facility located at 550 S. Bolingbrook Drive in • Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440, or at any subsequent Manheim online auction. 97-0-13 SECTION 3: Upon payment of the price indicated by the Manheim Auction Service, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus personal fleet vehicles to the Manheim Auction Service. SECTION 4: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the courts of the State of Illinois. SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passageapproval and publication in the manner provided by law.
