HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2016-120-O-16120-0-16 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of a Surplus Fleet Vehicle Owned by the City of Evanston (Northwest Municipal Vehicle Auction) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston (the "City") has determined it is no longer necessary, practical, or economical, nor in the best interests of the City, to retain ownership of a certain surplus fleet vehicle that has a value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) and is described in Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to sell said surplus fleet vehicle to the highest bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT: SECTION 1: The foregoing recitals are found as fact and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2: Pursuant to Subsection 1-17-3-(B) of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell the aforementioned surplus fleet vehicle, upon terms and conditions deemed reasonable, necessary, and in the best interests of the City, to the highest bidder at America's Auto Auctions, the Northwest Municipal Conference Suburban Purchasing Cooperative's "bid winner" for auction services for member municipalities to be held on or around Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Manheim Arena located at 14001 S. Karlov Avenue, Crestwood, Illinois 60554, or at any subsequent America's Auto Auctions Services online auction. SECTION 3: Upon payment of the price indicated by the America's Auto Auction Services, the City Manager is hereby authorized to convey evidence of ownership of aforesaid surplus fleet vehicle to the America's Auto Auction Service. SECTION 4: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the courts of the State of Illinois. SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
