AN ORDINANCE
Amending Title 10, Chapter 4, Section 1 ("Stopping, Standing or
Parking Prohibited in Specific Places")
NOW BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Title 10, Chapter 4, Section 1 "Stopping, Standing or
Parking Prohibited in Specific Places," of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as
amended, is hereby further amended:
10-4-1. - STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING PROHIBITED iN SPECIFIED
PLACES.
No person, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in
compliance with the law or the directions of a police officer or a traffic control device, in
any of the following places shall:
(A) Stop, stand or park a vehicle:
15.On the roadwav side of anv vehicle blockina all or Dart of a marked bicvcle lane.
A violation of Subsection 10-4-1(A)(15) shall result in a mandatory fine of
seventv five dollars ($75.00). If a ticket issued under this Subsection is not Daid
within twenty-one (21) days following issuance of final determination of liability.
the Citv shall impose an additional Denaltv of fiftv-five dollars ($55.001. In
addition. the Citv reserves the right to tow the vehicle. A vehicle that is towed
will be subiect to the seventv-five dollar ($75.00) fine Dius an additional Denaltv
of twentv-five dollars ($25.00) if Daid after the expiration of ten 001 days from
the date of issue and to the cost of towing and dailv storage fee. based on the
current rate established in the citv towina contract:
SECTION 2: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be
prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as
provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the courts of the State of Illinois.

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
passage and approval.
SECTION 5: If any provision of this Ordinance or application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity
shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given effect
without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid application of this
Ordinance is severable.
