HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-2020-016-O-201 /2/2020 1 /30/2020 16-0-20 AN ORDINANCE Amending City Code Section 3-4-9(B) to Permit the Local Liquor Commissioner to Grant Requests for Extension of Hours NOW BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: Section 3-4-9(B) of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, is hereby further amended by allowing for the onsite consumption as follows: (B) Hours during which sale is lawful may be extended by written order of Liquor Commissioner for periods not to exceed four (4) hours prior to opening upon written application by the licensee stating the reasons for the requested extension and the date(s) for which the extension, is sought. The request must be provided to the City in writing at least ten (10) days prior to the date the extension is requested or the request will be automatically denied. No licensee shall be granted such extension for more than thirty (30) dates in any one (1) calendar year. An extension fee must be submitted for each requested extension in the amount of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each hours - extension request. A License holder may request, an extension for a multi -day event; however, the days of the event must be consecutive and the event shall occur over a period of less than eight (8) days. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance must be in full force and effect after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law. SECTION 4: If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is ruled unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity 16-0-20 must not affect other provisions or applications of this ordinance that can be given effect without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid provision or invalid application of this ordinance is severable.
