HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2010-068-R-10• 12/13/2010 68-R-10 A RESOLUTION Abating Taxes Levied for the Year 2010 Heretofore Levied to Pay Principal and Interest on $37,100,000 Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 2000, of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois WHEREAS, on the 26th day of June, 2000, the City Council of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, did adopt Ordinance 68-0-00 entitled: and An Ordinance providing for the issuance of General Obligation Variable Rate Demand Bonds, Series 2000 A (Maple Street Project), Table Series 2000 B (Maple Street Project), Series 2000 C (Recreation Center Project), and Series 2000 D (Capital Improvements Projects), of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, and providing for the levy and collection of a direct annual tax of the payment of the principal of and interest on said bonds; WHEREAS, there is available from other sources the additional amount of Two Million, Six Hundred Twenty -Two Thousand Dollars ($2,622,000.00) which may lawfully be utilized to pay sums due on said bonds for which taxes were heretofore levied. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the taxes heretofore levied and provided for in the Ordinance 68-0-00 providing for the issuance of Thirty -Seven Million, One 40 Hundred Thousand Dollars ($37,100,000.00) Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series F-MMINSUI 2000, of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, passed June 27, 2000, as • Ordinance 68-0-00, be and the same hereby are abated for the year 2010 by the amount of Two Million, Six Hundred Twenty -Two Thousand Dollars ($2,622,000.00). SECTION 2: That the City Manager, upon passage of this Resolution 68-R-10, shall cause to be filed with the County Clerk of Cook County, Illinois, a certified copy hereof and shall direct said County Clerk to abate the taxes therefore levied under said Ordinance 68-0-00 and the accompanying Bond Order for the year 2010 in the additional amount of Two Million, Six Hundred Twenty -Two Thousand Dollars ($2,622,000.00). SECTION 3: That the foregoing recitals are hereby found as fact and made a part hereof. • SECTION 4: That this Resolution 68-R-10 shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
