A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a
Six Month Extension of the Service Agreement
Between the City of Evanston and
Evanston Community Media Center, Inc.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 14-R-97 the City has entered into a
Service Agreement with Evanston Community Media Center, Inc (ECMC) a non
profit access entity to obtain coordination and management of the PEG Channel
Capacity Provided under the City of Evanston Cable Franchise Agreement as
well as training and development of PEG users; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Service Agreement the City provides certain
• financial support to ECMC for its efforts in providing PEG coordination and
management as defined under the Service Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Service Agreement is of a duration concurrent with the
existing Cable Franchise with AT&T Broadband & Internet Services; and
WHEREAS, the Cable Franchise pursuant to Ordinance 135-0-00 has
been extended to July 16, 2001 in order to facilitate negotiations with the AT&T
Broadband & Internet Service for a Cable Franchise renewal.
WHEREAS, an extension of the Service Agreement between the City and
ECMC for the time period of the extension granted to the existing Cable
Franchise with AT&T Broadband & Internet Services is in the best interests of the
citizens of the City of Evanston,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 0
SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
sign and the City Clerk hereby authorized and directed to attest on behalf of the
City of Evanston a six month extension until July 16, 2001 of the Service
Agreement by and between the City of Evanston and the Evanston Community
Media Center which Agreement originally was adopted pursuant to Resolution
14-R-97 and amended pursuant to 71-R-00 that the extension shall be on the
same terms and conditions as set forth in the original Agreement between the
City of Evanston and the Evanston Community Media Center.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
