Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTIONS-2000-111-R-00111-R-00 A Resolution Canvassing the Results of the General Election Held on November 7, 2000 and Declaring the Results of Said Election WHEREAS, on the seventh day of November, 2000, a general election was held in and for the Town of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of conducting a binding referendum to determine whether "the extension limitation under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law for the Township of Evanston be increased from 2.7% to 76% for the 2000 levy year;"and WHEREAS, said general election was regularly called in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, the official Canvassing Board consisting of the Evanston Township Supervisor, Senior Trustee, Town Clerk and Finance Director Bill Stafford, find from the returns of said general election that the following votes were cast for the binding referenda indicated: (See attached Exhibit A) THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of, Evanston, Cook County, Illinois; ' SECTION 1: That by reason of said vote, the Town of the City of Evanston declares that the binding referendum to determine "shall the extension limitation under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law for the Township of Evanston be increased from 2.7% to 76% for the 2000 levy year?" failed. / SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby made a permanent part of the records of the Town of the City Evanston, Cook County, Illinois.
