HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2000-055-R-00• 5/19/00 55-R-00 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Accept a Quit Claim Deed and Assignment of Lease from Northwestern University/Evanston Research Park for 1839-1851 East Railroad Avenue, Commonly know as 1840 Oak Avenue BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept on behalf of the City of Evanston, a certain Quit Claim Deed and Assignment of Lease from the Northwestern University/Evanston Research Park as Grantor for a consideration of Ten • Dollars ($10.00) and other good and valuable consideration for all interests in the following property 1839-1851 East Railroad Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, commonly known as 1840 Oak Avenue, Evanston, Illinois. Permanent Index Numbers (PINs): 11-18-112-005, 11-18- 112-031, 11-18-112-036 and 11-18-112-040. That the conveyance made by the Grantor and accepted by the City Manager on behalf of the City shall be held, used, operated, disposed of, sold and conveyed subject to the following conditions and restrictions. 1. Prohibited Uses. No research shall be conducted on the Land which is directly and solely for the production, storage or processing of Munitions or their unique components. For the purposes of this document, "Munitions" shall mean weapons of war including, but not limited to, conventional, nuclear, chemical and bacteriological weapons. 2. Consent Required For Certain Transfers. Without the prior express written consent of the City of Evanston, a municipal corporation (the "City"), no portion of is the Land shall be sold, conveyed, leased, or otherwise disposed of to a tax exempt entity (other than the City) if the result thereof would be to exempt such portion of the Land from the payment of general real estate taxes. 55-R-00 • SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional conditions, terms to the Quit Claim Deed and Assignment of Lease as he may determine to be in the best interests of the City.
