A RESOLUTION
Amendment to the 1996-97 Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council with passage of Resolution 6-R-96 approved the
City of Evanston's Consolidated Plan for Fiscal Year 1996/97, in which was included an
application for 1996-97 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds, and
directed the Interim City Manager to file said application with the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, said Consolidated Plan and application was submitted and approved by the
• United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee is responsible
for oversight of Evanston's CDBG program; and
WHEREAS, the North Shore Senior Center asked the Committee to consider funding
support for its Evanston case coordination unit; and
WHEREAS, said Committee held public meetings on March 12, 1996 and April 16,
1996, at which said funding request was discussed and public comment received as required by
the Consolidated Plan's Citizen Participation Plan; and
WHEREAS, at its April 16, 1996 meeting, the Housing and Community Development
Act Committee did vote to approve the reallocation of $23,450 to the North Shore Senior Center;
and
WHEREAS, at the April 16, 1996 meeting, the Housing and Community Development
Act Committee approved an amendment to the grant award to Family Counseling Services,
reducing the 1996/97 CDBG grant for Family Counseling Service to $6,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS;
Section 1: That the 1996/97 Community Development Block Grant program is
amended and the grant awards are approved for the following projects:
Family Counseling Service $6,000
North Shore Senior Center $23,450
Section 2: That the City of Evanston's 1996/97 Consolidated Plan shall be amended
accordingly and said amendment transmitted to the United States
Department of housing and Urban Development; and
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
