A RESOLUTION
Authorizing City Manager to Execute a
Lease with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago
For the Former Permalawn Property and Adjacent Property Referred to as North
Shore Parcels 2.12 and 2.13
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago
("the District", formerly known as the Sanitary District of Chicago) 100 East Erie Street,
Chicago, Illinois 60611 is the owner of the former Permalawn property and the adjacent
property situated along Ashland Avenue, near the intersection of vacated Noyes Street
and just south of District Property located at 2222 Green Bay Road also referred to as
• North Shore Parcels 2.12 and 2.13, hereinafter referred to as Demised Premises; and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has requested use of this property to build trail
connections along the North Shore Channel to the Green Bay Trail and other trails
along the Channel, extend Twiggs Park, and to facilitate parking; and
WHEREAS, the trail connections have been identified in the Evanston
Comprehensive General Plan, the Evanston Bike System Improvement Plan, and the
Parks Strategic Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that a lease of the Demised Premises
is in the best interest of the City of Evanston; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the aforedescribed recitals are hereby found as fact and made
a part hereof. •
SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sign
and the City Clerk, hereby authorized and directed to attest, on behalf of the City of
Evanston, a lease marked as Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein, with
the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for North Shore Parcels
2.12 and 2.13 marked as Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
SECTION 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
negotiate any additional terms and conditions of the said lease which may be in the best
interests of the City.
SECTION 4: That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage and approval in the manner required by law.
