Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTIONS-2006-004-R-0612/22/05 • 4-R-06 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Sign a Joint Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation For 20% Participation of the Preliminary Engineering Cost for Chicago Avenue Traffic Signal Design Project WHEREAS, the City of Evanston and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in the interest of the safe and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, are desirous of upgrading and coordinating the traffic signals on Chicago Avenue from Dempster Street to South Boulevard in the City of Evanston (See Location Map, attached), said improvement to be identified as STATE Section: 05-000240-00-TL, STATE Job: D-91-150-06, and Project Number: CMM-8003(579) and hereinafter • referred to as the PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the City and IDOT are desirous of said PROJECT in that same will be of immediate benefit to the residents of the area and permanent in nature; and WHEREAS, the City and IDOT wish to avail themselves of Federal funds committed to improve this PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined it is in the best interests of the City of Evanston to enter said Joint Agreement, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign and the City 0 Clerk hereby authorized to attest to the Joint Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 20% Participation of the Preliminary Engineering Cost for Chicago Avenue Traffic Signal Design Project, attached as Exhibit 1 and made a part hereof. • SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional conditions of the Joint Agreement as may be determined to be in the best interests of the City. SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provid d by law. Lorraine H.
