A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to Sign
A Local Assurance Document for an Application to Participate in an
Interagency/Joint Funding Agreement through the Illinois Transportation
Enhancement Program for
the Evanston Lakefront Corridor Reconstruction Project
WHEREAS, the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program is a federal -
financed program operated by the Illinois Department of Transportation in partnership
with other state agencies, local governments, interest groups and citizens in enhancing
the transportation system and building more livable communities; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program funding can be
requested for pedestrian/bicycle facilities which facilitates transportation from one
destination to another and are included in a local, regional, or statewide plan; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program operates on a
20% non -Federal match for preliminary engineering, utility relocations, construction
engineering and construction costs. The City share for the project is $286,000 and the
request from the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program is $1,144,000. The
program is a reimbursement program requiring the City to pay all costs up -front and
request reimbursement; and
WHEREAS, an applicant, as part of its proposal, must submit a signature of an
Authorizing Official; and

WHEREAS, the City's Parks/Forestry & Recreation Department is preparing a an
application for the Interagency/Joint Funding Agreement for the Evanston Lakefront
Corridor Reconstruction Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign the Local
Assurance attached hereto as Exhibit A for the Illinois Transportation Enhancement
Program application for the Evanston Lakefront Corridor Reconstruction Project.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
negotiate any additional conditions of the application as may be determined to be in the
best interests of the City.
SECTION 3: That the Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. 6
