HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2004-036-R-046/4/2004 36-R-04 Authorizing the City Manager to Sign A Resolution of Authorization for An Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant Application for Renovations at Mason Park WHEREAS, the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant is a state -financed program operated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources; and WHEREAS, an OSLAD grant can be requested for development of land for public outdoor recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, the OSLAD grant program operates on a reimbursement basis is providing up to 50% assistance for approved project costs, with a maximum award of $400,000; and WHEREAS, an applicant, as part of its proposal, must adopt and submit a Resolution of Authorization by July 1, 2004 certifying and acknowledging that it has - _r_ �1-0.0%�of�the_funds_ne-cessary�to complete. -the pending project within -the required time; and WHEREAS, the City's Parks/Forestry & Recreation Department is preparing a grant proposal for Mason Park for FY 2004; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has designated $317,200 for renovation in Mason Park in the 2001-07 Capital Improvement Plan; and 0, WHEREAS, the City has received $300,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for Mason Park, - 36-R-04 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: • ....__"__-~ ' SECTION 1:' -That "the -City- Council adopts the "State of Illinois-"OSLAD/LWCF Doc-3 Resolution of Authorization attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof. SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign and the City Clerk hereby authorized to attest to the Resolution of Authorization and the grant application to apply for an OSLAD grant for the renovations at Mason Park. SECTION 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional conditions of the Resolution of Authorization and grant application as may be determined to be in the best interests of the City. SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. • �orraine H.
