HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2003-020-R-03• 03/31 /2003 20-R-03 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Sign a Joint Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Village of Wilmette For Phase One of the Isabella Street Bridge Project WHEREAS, the State of Illinois ("State"), acting through the Illinois Department of Transportation ("IDOT"); the City of Evanston ("City"); and the Village of Wilmette ("Village"), in the interest of the safe and efficient movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, are desirous of conducting a Phase I Engineering study for reconstruction of Sheridan Road (FAU 1367) from 10t�' Street to Isabella Street and Isabella Street from • Bryant Avenue to Sheridan Road (Exhibit A), said improvements to be identified as Wilmette Section 00-00173-00-FP and Evanston Section 10-00228-00-FP and STATE Job P-91-295-01, and hereinafter referred to as the PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the parties hereto are desirous of said PROJECT in that said PROJECT will be of immediate benefit to the residents of the area and permanent in nature; and WHEREAS, the STATE, the CITY, and the VILLAGE wish to avail themselves of certain STATE funds appropriated to IDOT for this PROJECT; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined it is in the best interests of the City of Evanston to enter said Agreement, • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 20-R-03 SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign and the City • Clerk hereby authorized to attest to the Joint Agreement with the State of Illinois through IDOT and the Village of Wilmette for Phase One of the Isabella Street Bridge Project, attached as Exhibit A. SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional conditions of the Joint Agreement as may be determined to be in the best interests of the City. SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided b law. 1 Lorraine H.
