A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a
Permit Extension Agreement With the
Metropolitan Water Reclamation
District of Greater Chicago Allowing the
City to Store Construction -Related Equipment
And Materials on District Property on
Ashland Avenue near Noyes Street
WHEREAS, the City and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago ("MWRD") are units of municipal government; and
WHEREAS, 5 ILCS 220, pursuant to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, and
pursuant to Resolution 47-R-00, the City and the MWRD executed a three-year permit
• dated April 19, 2000, which permitted the City and its long-range sewer improvement
contractors to use the area of approximately 51,450 square feet of MWRD property located
along Ashland Avenue, near the intersection of vacated Noyes Street, and just south of
property at 2222 Green Bay; in Evanston for storage of construction equipment and
materials related to local sewer improvements; and
WHEREAS, said permit will expire on April 18, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City and the MWRD are desirous of extending that permit for
approximately twenty (20) months, until December 18, 2004; and
WHEREAS, said extension is in the best interests of the citizens of Evanston,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
0 OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the foregoing recitals are found as fact and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2: That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager
to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, an extension of the aforedescribed permit with the
MWRD for the sum of one dollar and no/100 ($1.00).
SECTION 3: The City Manager is authorized to negotiate any additional terms and
conditions deemed to be in the public interest.
SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
