A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to
Enter Into an Agreement With
WBEZ Chicago Public Radio 91.5 FM
For Promotional Sponsorship of the City's 2002
Ethnic Arts Festival, LakeShore Festival,
and Arts Week Evanston
WHEREAS, the City has for many years organized and held such summer
cultural events as the Ethnic Arts Festival, LakeShore Festival, and Arts Week
Evanston; and
WHEREAS, these events provide a venue for artisans and performers to
• showcase their talents; and
WHEREAS, these events draw attendees from the Chicagoland area and
provide economic and social benefits to the City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, radio advertising of the Festivals and Concerts will publicize the
events and thereby increase their attendance; and
WHEREAS, WBEZ Chicago Public Radio 91.5 FM has agreed to provide
sponsorship of these events; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of WBEZ Chicago Public Radio 91.5 FM's generous
sponsorship valued at approximately $10,800 is in the best interests of the citizens of
Evanston,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
0 OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby gratefully accepts the WBEZ Chicago
Public Radio 91.5 FM's promotional sponsorship in the approximate amount of $10,800 •
and acknowledges this contribution to the City's 2002 Ethnic Arts Festival, Lakeshore
Festival and Arts Week Evanston.
SECTION 2: That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City
Manager to sign, and the City Clerk to attest, an agreement between the City and the
Fund in substantial conformity with that attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part
hereof, providing for WBEZ Chicago Public Radio 91.5 FM's promotional sponsorship of
the above -listed events for the year 2002 only.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate
any additional terms and conditions of the Agreement as may be determined to be in
the best interests of the City.
SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after •
its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
