HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2002-032-R-02• 32-R-02 A Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Extension of the Community Development Block Grant Program Purchase of Services Agreement between the City of Evanston and Evanston Day Nursery WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council, by passage of Resolution 2-R-Olon January 8, 2001, did approve a 2001/02 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award to Evanston Day Nursery (Grantee) in the amount of $44,000 for the purpose of funding the expansion and improvement of the Grantee's building at 1835 Grant Street for use as a day nursery (Project); and WHEREAS, on March 1, 2001 the City of Evanston did enter into a Purchase of Services Agreement (Agreement) with Grantee for the 2001/02 CDBG program year • (March 1, 2001 — February 28, 2002); and WHEREAS, said contract period has expired; and WHEREAS, Grantee has partially completed the work program, described in Appendix A of the Purchase of Services Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, Grantee has requested an extension of the aforesaid Purchase of Services Agreement in order to complete the work program; and WHEREAS, Section II of the Agreement provides that the Agreement "may be extended by mutual agreement for a specific period of time as long as the Grantee is performing in accordance with the terms of the Agreement" ; and WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is agreeable to an extension of the Agreement to September 30, 2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 32-R-02 • SECTION 1: The foregoing recitals are found as facts and made a part hereof. SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sign on behalf of the City and the City Clerk authorized and directed to attest, an extension to the Agreement between the City of Evanston and Evanston Day Nursery to extend the Agreement period to September 30, 2002. The terms and conditions in the March 1, 2001 Agreement remain in effect and are unmodified, except for the term extension agreed to herein. SECTION 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional terms and conditions of the aforedescribed Agreement as may be determined in the best interests of the City. SECTION 4: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. vt"Icl Lorraine H. SECTION 2: The City of Evanston and Evanston Day Nursery hereby agree to extend the Agreement period for the 2001/02 CDBG program Purchase of Services Agreement to September 30, 2002. The terms and conditions In the March 1, 2001 Agreement remain in effect and are unmodified, except for the term extension agreed to herein.
