HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-2002-006-R-02• 02/04/2002 6-R-02 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a License Agreement With EVNORSKO for Use of a Certain Portion of Land at 2020 Asbury Avenue for a CNG Fueling Station WHEREAS, by Resolution 4-R-02, the City Council authorized the City's participation in EVNORSKO, a Regional Alternative Fuel Cooperative Agreement; and WHEREAS, among the purposes of EVNORSKO is establishment and operation of an alternative fueling program, a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station, at the City's Municipal Services Center, 2020 Asbury Avenue, on that portion of land depicted • and legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, the City and EVNORSKO desire to enter into a License Agreement to provide for EVNORSKO's use of the aforedescribed portion of 2020 Asbury Avenue as a CNG fueling facility; and WHEREAS, such a License Agreement is in the best interest of the citizens of Evanston, inasmuch as natural gas is the least polluting fossil fuel and is found in abundance in this country; and WHEREAS, the use of natural gas promotes compliance with the Clean Air Act of 1990, Public Law 101-549, and the Energy Act of 1992, Public Law 102-486, reduces dependency on foreign oil, and contributes to improvement of air quality, and • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 6-R-02 SECTION 1: That the foregoing recitals are found as fact and made a part hereof. • SECTION 2: That the City Manager and the City Clerk, respectively, are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest the License Agreement for a fee of $10.00 per year in substantial conformity with that in Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate any additional terms and conditions of the License Agreement as may be in the best interest of the City. SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval in the manner required by law. Adopted: �l �j , 2002 ,, '� • 1 I ` Lorraine H.
