HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1994-014-R-94C7 14-R-94 A RESOLUTION Amendment to the 1994-95 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Authorizing the Reallocation of Unexpended Housing Loan Funds WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council with passage of Resolution 4-R-94 approved the City's application for 1994-95 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds and directed the City Manager to file said application with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, said application has been submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for its review and approval; and WHEREAS, said United States Department has asked the City to reduce the balance in Multi- Family/Single-Family Revolving Loan Fund by reallocating those funds to other eligible activities in the 1994-95 program year; and WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee held public meetings on January 11, 1994 and February 8, 1994 to hear public opinion on the proposed reallocations as required by the Community Development Citizen Participation Plan; and WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee did vote to approve reallocation of $500,000 in Single -Family Revolving Loan Funds and to recommend to the City Council passage of this Resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1: That the 1994-95 Community Development Block Grant program is amended and authorizes that $500,000 in program income from the Single -Family Revolving Fund be reallocated to the 1994-95 program year: $ 38,955 Seventeenth Year Grant 283,695 Eighteenth Year Grant (1992-93) 179.350 Nineteenth Year Grant (1993-94) $500,000 TOTAL REALLOCATIONS TO THE 1994-95 CDBG PROGRAM. Section 2: That the aforesaid Single -Family Revolving Loan Funds shall be reallocated to fund the following projects: $250,000 Multi -Family Code Rehab Program 50,000 Code Enforcement Reallocation Program 50,000 Landlord/Tenant Assistance Program 75,000 Youth Entrepreneurial Training and Education at Work Programs 50,000 Alley Surfacing Program 25.000 Commission on Aging Handyman Assistance Program $500,000 TOTAL Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. ayor ATTEST: gClerk4'0'- ADOPTED: �� 7/d , 1994 0 is
