HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1993-080-R-9306-29-93 80-R-93 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Enter an Agreement with Evanston Township WHEREAS, Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 139, Paragraph 126.10 authorizes the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston to spend Township funds for health, recreation and social services to the poor and aged; and WHEREAS, the City of Evanston, has provided health, recreational and social services to the poor and aged; and WHEREAS, the City of Evanston through the Evanston Health and Human Services Department and the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department has an existing service delivery system which provides health, recreation and social services to the poor and aged in an efficient and timely manner; and WHEREAS, Evanston Township, due to the efficient management practices of the Township Supervisor, Township Director and the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston, has accumulated sufficient funds to provide health, recreation and social services to the poor and aged. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston as part of the 1993-1994 Township budget has appropriated $500,000 for the provision of health, recreational and social services to the poor and aged; and 1 80-R-93 WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston has determined that utilization of the Evanston Health and Human Services Department and the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department to provide health, recreation and social services to the poor and aged of Evanston is in the best interest of the residents of Evanston Township and the City of Evanston. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City Manager of the City of Evanston is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement with the Town of the City of Evanston and that the Agreement shall be in substantial conformance with the Agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit A. SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and approval. NOW, THEREFORE in consideration of the mutual agreements contained herein, the City of Evanston and the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston agree as follows: 1. Agreement: This agreement is made by and between the City .of Evanston (CITY) and the Board of Trustees of the Town of the City of Evanston (TRUSTEES), for the purposes of funding certain health, recreation and social services for the poor and aged. It is understood that the specific services provided under this agreement are as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 2. Term: April 1, 1993 to March 31, 1994. This agreement may be extended by the mutual agreement of the parties. 3. Amount: Five Hundred Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($500,000.00). 4. Payment: The Trustees shall pay to the City, Five Hundred Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($500,000.00) as follows: On August 1, 1993, the Trustees shall pay to the City, One Hundred Sixty Six Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Seven and no/100 Dollars ($166,667.00). Thereafter, on the first day of every month for the term herein, the Trustees shall pay to the City, Forty one Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Seven and no/100 Dollars ($41,667.00). 5. Reports: The City, no later than October 1, 1993, shall submit to the Trustees a report on the level of services 8 provided as outlined in Exhibit A.
