HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1993-042-R-9342-R-93 A RESOLUTION Canvassing the Results of the Consolidated Primary Election held on February 23, 1993, and Declaring the Results of Said Election WHEREAS, on the Twenty-third day of February, 1993, a Consolidated Primary Election was held in and for the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of determining which two of five mayoral candidates should stand for election at the Consolidated Municipal Election to be held on April 20, 1993. WHEREAS, said Consolidated Primary Election was regularly called in the manner provided by law: and WHEREAS, the official Canvassing Board consisting of the Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Attorney for the City of Evanston, finds from the returns of said Consolidated Primary Election that the following votes were cast for the mayoral candidates indicated: REPORT OF CANVASSING BOARD TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS: The undersigned, having been duly notified by City Clerk Kirsten F. Horton and recommends that they are declared to be the candidates who should be placed on the ballot for the April 20, 1993, Consolidated Municipal Election, pursuant to the referendum approved by the voters of the City of Evanston on November 3, 1992: TOTAL BALLOTS CAST - 11,207 Ann Rainey - 3245 Cheryl M. Wollin - 2360 Lorraine H. Morton - 2449 John F. Norwood - 1090 James Matykiewicz - 1920 The Canvassing Board submits the foregoing reports as a. complete return and canvass of the results of the votes cast in the Consolidated Primary Election held on February 23, 1993, to determine which two of five mayoral candidates shall be placed on the ballot for the April 20, 1993, Consolidated Municipal Election. Hill Submitted March 3, 1993 SECTION 1: That by reason of said vote, the City Council of the City of Evanston declares Ann Rainey and Lorraine H. Morton to be the candidates receiving the highest number of votes and directs that their names be placed on the April 20, 1993, Consolidated Municipal Election ballot for the office of mayor.
