HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1993-026-R-9302-08-93 3-1-93 3-2-93 26-R-93 A RESOLUTION Reducing the Aldermanic Membership of the Flood and Pollution Control Commission to Two WHEREAS, on April 2, 1991, citizens of Evanston passed a referendum to reduce the size of the City Council from eighteen to nine members; and WHEREAS, the reduction in the size of the City Council will occur effective upon the election of April, 1993; and WHEREAS, the reduction in the size of the City Council is a fundamental change in the manner in which the City will conduct its business and affairs; and WHEREAS, as a result of thereduction, it is necessary that the functions and purposes of certain City boards and commissions be consolidated; and WHEREAS, the Flood and Pollution Control Commission currently reports to the City CounciT;'and WHEREAS, a change in the composition and reporting procedure of the Flood and Pollution Control Commission will result in an administration which would be as efficient and comprehensive as possible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: SECTION 1: That the Aldermanic Membership on the Flood and Pollution Control Commission is hereby reduced from four (4) members to two (2) members; the citizens membership is hereby increased from two (2) to four (4) members; all such citizen members shall have a background in engineering, construction or finance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Flood and Pollution Control Commission shall report to the Administration and Public Works Committee of the City Council. - - BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other provisions of Resolution 49-R-75 are hereby reaffirmed as if fully stated herein.
