HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1993-013-R-93Ys z 13-R-93 A RESOLUTION HONORING THOMAS S. FULLER PRESIDENT OF THE METROPOLITAN WATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT WHEREAS, THOMAS S. FULLER was elected President of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District on January 7, 1993; and WHEREAS, THOMAS S. FULLER was elected Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) in 1978, and during his term worked for the inclusion of minorities and women in all construction contract let by the District; and WHEREAS, prior to his election to as a Commissioner of the MWRD, he served as an Assistant to the Sheriff of Cook County; as Director of the State Equal Employment Opportunity Program, where he became the architect of the State of Illinois Affirmative Action Plan which assures fairness in employment for minorities and women, and the Chicago Plan which provides for minorities and women to serve as sub -contractors on all contracts awarded by the City of Chicago; and served as Affirmative Action Officer for the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, prior to working in government, THOMAS S. FULLER was Director of Community Relations and Communications for the American Hospital Association, the former Executive Vice President of the Independent Union of Social Service Employees of Illinois, the past President of the Community and Economic Development Association and served as Democratic Committeeman of Evanston Township from 1974-1982; and WHEREAS, THOMAS S. FULLER is a long-time Evanston resident who has always worked on behalf of the welfare of its citizens and has been responsive to their concerns and needs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Mayor Joan W. Barr and the City Council of the City of Evanston extend their heartiest congratulations to Mr. Fuller on his election as President of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and wish him a successful term.
