Authorizing the City Manager to Sign an Illinois Department of
Transportation Resolution for Improvement by Municipality under the
Illinois Highway Code for Improvements to Various Evanston Streets
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic and insure safety to
the motoring public, the City of Evanston and the Illinois Department of Transportation
("IDOT"), are desirous of entering into an Illinois Department of Transportation Resolution
for Improvement by Municipality under the Illinois Highway Code, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit 1, for improvements to various streets
within the City of Evanston; and
WHEREAS, said roadway improvements consist of curb repairs, sidewalk
curb replacement, pavement base repair, drainage/utility structure adjustment, asphalt
grinding and resurfacing, and parkway restoration with necessary incidental construction;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Manager to execute the IDOT
Resolution for Improvement by Municipality Under the Illinois Highway Code, allocating a
portion of the City's Motor Fuel Tax funds in the principal amount of One Million Two
Hundred Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($1,200,000.00) to pay for said street
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests
of the City to execute the aforementioned resolution for certain street improvements,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign and the
City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to the Resolution for Improvement by Municipality
under the Illinois Highway Code between the City of Evanston and IDOT, attached hereto
as Exhibit 1.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
negotiate any additional conditions with IDOT for the City roadway construction using
the City's Motor Fuel Tax Funds.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution 11-R-18 shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
1. That the proposed improvement shall consist of
Curb replacement, base repair, drainage/ utility structure adjustment, asphalt grinding and resurfacing the street

Instructions for BLR 09110
This form shall be used when a Local Public Agency (LPA) wants to construction an improvement using Motor Fuel Tax(MFT) funds. Refer
to Chapter 9 of the Bureau of Local Roads and Streets Manual (BLRS Manual) for more detailed information. For signature requirements
refer to Chapter 2, Section 3.05(b) of the BLRS Manual.
When filling out this form electronically, once a field is initially completed, fields requiring the same information will be auto -populated.
Resolution Number
Enter the resolution number as assigned by the LPA, if applicable.
Resolution Type
From the drop down box choose the type of resolution:
- Original would be used when passing a resolution for the first time for this projec-.
- Supplemental would be used when passing a resolution increasing appropriation above previously
passed resolutions.
- Amended would be used when a previously passed resolution is being amended.
Section Number
Insert the section number of the improvement the resolution covers.
Governing Body Type
From the drop down box choose the type of administrative body. Choose Board for County; Council for a
City or Town; President and Board of Trustees for a Village or Town.
LPA Type
From the drop down box choose the LPA body type. Types to choose from are: County, City, Town or

Insert the name of the Street/Road on which the structure is located. Use a separate line for structure. If
